University of Iowa Animal Research Campaign
« Thread Started on Dec 21, 2004, 2:18am »

In light of the month long ago ALF raid at the University of Iowa, I want to know everyone's opinion. What do you think about doing a campaign against the university's animal research? I know the ALF didn't rescue the primates (which I have been alerted about the primate center a year ago from a concerned UI student) so I'm sure they are still there. I can almost guarantee that there is still some form of animal research still going on at the UI of Health center.

I've heard someone tell me once that in light of the recent ALF raid, that this is the opportune time to start up the campaign, while people are focused on it.

However, I have thought that because of the ALF raid, it wouldn't help our image, as people would view us as terrorists. Also, the FBI may still be working on this case. I'm sure they are. I don't want any of us to be investigated wrongly. (Remember, if you do get questioned by the FBI or police, don't say anyting without a lawyer present. They can twist what you say.)

So, here's the question: Campaign now? Or should we wait?
